Welcome to the Education Ministry Page!

Educational opportunities currently being offered at Prospect Church are listed below.

Children age two (by October 1, 2018) through and including adults are welcome to be part of a vibrant educational experience that leads the congregation to worship and serve God!  All classes explore the same lectionary reading from the Bible, encouraging meaningful participation in worship as well as family conversations outside of church.  Classes meet from 9:15-10:15AM each Sunday, beginning with the Kick-Off Breakfast and ending with the Closing Celebration.    Monthly Sensational Sundays join all ages together in an interactive, truly intergenerational Sunday school lesson!   New students are welcome any time during the year!  Please complete the ConnectEd Registration and Photo Permission Form - one per family.

Sensational Sundays

A creative, inter-generational approach to Sunday school takes place monthly in Fellowship Hall.  Please join us!

Sunday school does not meet on Sensational Sundays.

Youth Ministry

In addition to weekly Sunday school classes, middle and senior high youth participate in specially scheduled activities that encourage discipleship through study and discussion, service, and fellowship.  Lock-ins and youth retreats at Camp Johnsonburg are always popular events!  Prospect's Sr. Highs look forward to participating in a mission trip each summer and spend a portion of each year preparing for that trip.  Check the church calendar and newsletter to find out about current youth activities.  In addition to these events that are specifically for youth, Prospect values intergenerational ministry and seeks to involve children and youth in meaningful ways in the total life of the church.

Women's Bible Study

Using the Presbyterian Women's Horizons Bible Study, this group meets monthly September through June the second Monday of the month from 10:00-11:30 AM.  This informal conversational Bible study is led by Rita Boyer in the Burnett Room.  All women are invited to come as they are able!

This year's study is Who Is Jesus? What a Difference a Lens Makes.  We began in September by looking through the lens of Mark, the earliest of the four Gospels.  In October we looked through the lens of Matthew and were challenged to allow the portrait that each Gospel paints to stand as a complete image on its own, rather than trying to create a patchwork quilt that fits together bits and pieces from different sources.  Those who are not able to attend the group sessions may want to participate at home.  Read the first eight chapters of Mark(or all of this short Gospel) and then go to http://pwpcusa.typepad.com/jesus/2016/08/index.html to find the blog on the Horizons website.  Scroll down the page to find the blog that pertains to Mark.  After you have spent time with Mark, move on to Matthew 5-7 and 13 before returning to the same page of the blog for Matthew.
